Daisuke NAGAMINE

  He was born in Chiba, Japan in 1977. He graduated from the law department of Doshisha University in Kyoto. While he was at the University from 1995 to 1999, he studied playing the French Horn under the instruction from Mr. Ryo Koyama who was the principal player in Kyoto Symphony Orchestra, and participated in the student orchestra, and was selected as principal horn player to a member of the youth orchestra organized by "22 Century Club"(It is the organization aiming at creating the musical composition which remains till the 22nd century. From 1991 to 2001, it held concerts in April every year, and entrusted few composers with and premiered new work).
   Furthermore, his great interest for the music was not only in performing the instrument, but also in conducting. In 1999, he participated in the performance of Handelfs "Messiah" as an assistant conductor to Mr. Hideomi Kuroiwa, the conductor. In the same year, he conducted Sibelius's Symphony No.2 at a regular concert of the Doshisha Symphony Orchestra.
  Taking advantage of these experiences, he began to study intensively to become a professional conductor. He studied conducting under Mr. Kazuyoshi Akiyama, the laureate conductor of The Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, and music analysis under Ms. Reiko Shimada at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music in Tokyo from 1999 to 2001.
  From 2001 to 2002 he studied conducting at the College for Music FRANTZ LISZT Weimar (Hochschule f ur Musik FRANZ LISZT Weimar) in Germany as an auditor.
  He has also studied conducting under Kurt Redel, Octav Calleya and Daisuke Soga (the principal guest conductor of Tokyo New City Orchestra).

  Mr.Nagamine made his stage debut in Europe as a professional conductor in 2002. He got a chance to direct "Ensemble Controverse" in behalf of the Kapellmeister of the theater at Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, in the music festival "Nordisher Klang" at Greifsbald in Germany. On May 7, 2002 his conducting of Scandinavian music made audiences and players excite, as reported by a local newspaper, "Ostsee Zeitung" three days later, and Mr. J. Persen, one of the composers, was present the concert and eulogized me personally.

  He has participated in music festivals. In August, 2005, He participated in the Catania International Summer Music Festival 2005 (Italy) and made a concert with the Cluj Opera Symphony orchestra as the finalist. In May, 2006, He took part in the "Dinu Niculescu" International Master class for orchestra conductors (Romania) and conducted Brasov Philharmonic Orchestra at the final concert.

  In recent years the young conductor has repeatedly had concerts in Brazil. He joined in the 27th Londrina International Music Festival in July 2007. He was invited to the 10th Festival gEleazar de Carvalhoh as a professor of orchestral conducting, and conducted the final concert of the festival to commemorate the 100th anniversary of emigration from Japan to Brazil on July 20, 2008. The concert was aired on TV and made the front page of the local newspaper on the next day.

  He has conducted following domestic orchestras; West Tokyo Philharmony Orchestra, Nara Symphony Orchestra, Green Symphony Orchestra, Nagareyama Philharmony Orchestra, Orchestra Ensemble Forza, Tsu Philharmony Orchestra, Orchestra "Riki", Nagano Community Band, Kunitachi Symphony Orchestra, and Kunitachi Symphony Orchestra Brass. In 2010, He made the tour through Germany with Kunitachi Symphony Orchestra Brass from 1 to 3 Jan. and their two new year concerts was so acclaimed.
  Since 2004 he is the Music Director of Orchestra "Three-elephants".

  Besides conducting he has studied musicology under Prof. Toyomi Iimori at Nihonbashi Gakkan University in Chiba, Japan, since 2004 to 2008.
